The process of dissecting a problem, weighing different courses of action, and arriving at a decision is often not straightforward. Executive programs in problem solving and decision making generally focus on training managers to approach problems more objectively, critically, and creatively. Some courses teach managers and executives how to break down complex problems or big decisions into smaller pieces that can be analyzed and tackled individually from a quantitative and qualitative perspective.
