Operations are the cyclical activities that an organization undertakes to run its business. The overall goals of conducting operations include transforming resources into services or products, and delivering value to customers and stakeholders. In business, the permanent, cyclical nature of operations usually stands in contrast to the more temporary nature of individual projects. Managers often implement their company’s business strategy by overseeing operations. Operations managers need an in-depth understanding of their company’s operations design, and can audit and analyze data to make them more efficient and productive.
